Rosehip oil makes a comeback to skin care rituals for transformative results!

Where it comes from:

Rosehip oil is harvested from the superseeds of rose bush fruits. In common parlance these seeds are also called rose haw and rose hep and red or orange or somewhere in between. These seeds are bursting with vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. Rosehips are high in Vitamin C beta carotene, lycopene, lutein and zeaxanthin. All carotenoids. It has a natural form of Vitamin A, tretinoin or all-trans-retinoic acid. It’s been used to heal and beautify skin for centuries by Egyptians, the Andean Indians of Chile, Mayans and in hilly tribes in India.

“Rosehip oil is a cockatail of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, caretonoids, fatty acids…a power packaed performance for great skin

Why we love it:

Why I love it:

  1. Pigmentation caused by acne: The vitamin A in Rose hip oil helps it penetrate to the deepest layers of our skin. This enables it to fight pigmentation since pigmentation originates in the sub dermal layers of our skin.
  2. Prevents wrinkles: The Vitamin C and Vitamin A present in Rosehip oil helps strengthen and thicken the collagen. This helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines and crow’s feet
  3. Collagen protection and production: The Vitamin A protects collagen from sunlight photodamage  and Vitamin C stimulates the production of new collagen
  4. Essential fatty acids: Its antioxidants and essential fatty acids help repair photo damage
  5. Lowers inflammation: It soothes the skin by lowering inflammation to soothe and so works fabulously for irritated, itchy skin as also sunburns
  6. Rosacea: It is known to help reduce rosacea redness
  7. Dark circles: It is rich emollients which helps improve the permeability and flexibility of our skin. Keeping the skin supple and soft
  8. Non-irritating: It is generally non-irritating and can be layered on with your skin ritual
  9. Single beauty ingredient: can be used as a single beauty ingredient. Does nt need another ingredient to boost its power or be its carrier.
  10.  Hyperpigmentation which is hormonal or sun damage: Tested and seal of approval: i have used it for my pigmentation and seen transformation on stubborn melasma! Here is my skin from 4 years ago- melasma needs medical intervention and has to be treated slowly. There are cases where its treated aggressively and it actually flare s up even more! Some laser treatments can also flare it up. and so I spent about 2 years doing that but the shift was just about 20%. Post taking the situation in my own hands and working on my melasma with my own skin ritual ingredients I slowly and steadily saw an 80% reduction in the melasma!
